Chanel Makeup Review!

Hi dolls, this is Cindy and I just wanted to review the Chanel makeup line. I've tried many products, so I just wanted you all to know what my thoughts were before you go and try it. The products in this review are quite pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for. Chanel is one of my favourite makeup lines so I thought I would go ahead and review it.

I first fell in love with the Chanel makeup line when I first tried their Chanel Pro Lumiere Foundation. If you ladies are looking for a great foundation that gives you full coverage, moisturizing and amazing in photos, you should most definitely try out this foundation. It was more on the yellow side so it cancelled out the redness on my skin. I also tried the Chanel Matte Lumiere but it was not as good. It was too matte, so it made my face look dry, and it did not look good in photos. It is quite pricey, as I believe it costs around $65 per bottle but well worth it!

Once I tried the Chanel Pro Lumiere foundation, I had to shop some more and found that their lipsticks are also amazing. They are very pigmented as it is buildable, and also very moisturizing. I am quite sensitive to some lipsticks as the harsh chemicals can sometimes irritate the skin on my lips but this is perfect. It gives you a glossy finish so you don't have to wear lip gloss on top of it, and it is also very pigmented at the same time. I tried their Rouge COCO lipstick that was hydrating and creamy. A very light, wearable lipstick. I tried it in the shade Magnolia A definite must try lipstick!

Another great product Chanel has is their Soleil Tan De Chanel Bronzer. This was one of my favourite bronzers to use in the winter time. It was matte so there was no shine on my dry skin, and gave me a nice glow to my skin. Some bronzers can make your skin look too "muddy" and dark, but this was the perfect finish. I personally loved it!

The Les Tissages De Chanel Blush was one of my favourite blushes as it gave a sheer finish that was still pigmented yet very natural looking. Because it was mixed in with a very natural pink and gold pigments, it gave off a very nice glow to my skin. This was quite the blush.

The Soleil Tan De Chanel Bronzer that is gel based is a product that I have not tried yet, however it is next on my list. It is a gel based bronzer that gives off a very healthy glow. Amy and I have been DYING to try this product as it would be great for the fall and winter seasons because of the gel base. You apply this with a normal bronzing brush, or kabuki brush over your foundation, and you can also set it with your powdered blonzer to use as a base. This has been received many great reviews, and we are definitely going to purchase this next!

Hidden Beauty Gems

I am going to try and do these once a month! Hidden Beauty Gems is all about amazing deals on beauty products:

Home Sense (also affiliate stores such as Winner's and TjMaxx)

These stores offer discounts on designer items. A lot of you may not have noticed they have a beauty section. Cindy and I find the best name brand curling irons, hair straighteners, hair products, make-up and more at these places! I have found all salon hair products for less than 10 dollars, top of the line make-up and nail polishes for ridiculously cheap.

HomeSense is best for hair products and tools, and also high end skin care. Winners and TjMaxx carry all of this and also usually have a good selection of make-up.

Some of our favourite finds:

Chi Silk Infusion: A large bottle of this amazing hair oil can cost up to 30 dollars.... at any of theses stores we have found it for half that, or less.

Cortex Clip-less curling irons: Curling irons without that barrel are all the rage. They give you such nice natural looking curls. The cortex ones usually run for about $60-$70. I got mine for $30.00 and Cindy got one that contains for different size barrels for only $50!!!

Nars Lip gloss: I was once at a TjMaxx in the US and I found Nars products! Nars is so expensive... their make-up products are sold at Sephora and I don't think anything costs less than $25.00

Bliss Facial Cleanser: I purchased four bottles of this for $7.99 each at Home Sense... go into your local Sephora and you'll see that its $40.00

You can always find OPI and Essie products for about half price there too!!!

Make sure to check them out regularly! New things are always coming in.

Amazing find! New Nail trend

I first saw these at Walmart but didn't really go for them because I have tried similar products that didn't really work well. Then I started noticing that everyone on YouTube was raving about them so I picked some up! The sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips are amazing! They come in a variety of patterns and also plain colours. What makes them last longer and work better than previous similar products is that they are made of real nail polish rather than just being a sticker for your nails. It even takes nail polish remove to take them off. I personally don't think the $10.00 is worth it for the plain colours, I'd just paint my nails. But as for the patterns, they look like an expensive manicure and are super fun! These are really easy to do and for more help look it up on YouTube! If I have trouble with anything, or want to learn something I always check out YouTube videos :)

Beautiful wavy hair!

Hello lovelies! Here's another blog you ladies should enjoy. Our personal favourite look is to have my hair in loose waves. Whether it be going out or just a regular day in the office, big sexy waves always dresses up a look. To achieve this style of hair, all you need is a 1 inch or 1.5 inch curling iron, heat protecting spray, hair serum for shine, and a teasing comb for volume. A huge tip is to curl away from your face. this compliments most face shapes, and brings out your features. The number one mistake girls make when curling hair is when they make the curls TOO TIGHT! Make sure to brush out your curls, so that its much more relaxed and wavy.

Lets be honest. The Kardashian sisters have really brought light flowy waves to the spot light of all hair styles. If anyone can wear loose waves, it would be the Kardashian sisters!

The beautiful Lauren Conrad is also known for her long, loose waves. This look is great because she wears it on the red carpet, and is spotted wearing it just shopping on a regular day. In this picture, her waves are much more loose, which can be achieved by using less heat. Still a gorgeous way to wear loose waves.

Our favourite products to achieve these looks are:

Tresemme Heat Protectant Spray: This product is very inexpensive, works very well, and on another note, it smells amazing! You can purchase this at your closest drug store, or Wal-Mart!

Moroccan Oil is one of the best purchases I have ever made!! This can be a little bit pricey, however it is what gives you that healthy shine, and also gives you added protection because it's a serum. It also helps with getting rid of frizz. You can purchase this in salons, or high end beauty product stores.
The Elnett Hairspray by L'Oreal Paris is a favourite by many girls because it honestly does its job! It has won many awards because of its quality and how well it helps maintains a specific style. This hairspray is a MUST HAVE! It allows you to style your hair many different ways, without ruining the curls. It has hold, but also gives you touchable soft curls! You can purchase this at drug stores or Wal-Mart. This product is a higher end product of L'Oreal, so it is more pricey but well worth it!

Fall Accessories

Dressing up for fall is for sure our favourite season to do so. How can we best describe fall fashion? Well to us, it is big scarfs, fabulous boots, and cozying up in big sweaters. The best way to vamp up your outfit during fall is to accessorize your outfit with these trendy things I'm about to list off. There are key accessories that every girl should have to dress up your fall outfit. By adding these key things to your outfit, your outfit can change from Plane Jane, to sophisticated and trendy.

First, our favourite thing to own, which we have in many patterns and materials are BIG SCARVES! Not only does it compliment the season by keeping you warm, but it instantly changes your look. Our personal favourite is the leopard scarf. Knitted "onzy's" are also a must have. We LOVE to shop at Aldo Accessories and H&M for big scarves. Wear it with a blazer, leather jacket, or even a cardigan and you are good to go! Celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Hilary Duff are always spotted wearing them.

Tall, leather boots are my second must have fall accessory. It instantly dresses up your look, and without the hassle of working too hard. My favourite is wearing it with tights or a pair of skinnys.

On the more dressy side of fall, wedges are a great way to dress up an outfit. This trendy look not only makes you look sophisticated but it's VERY comfortable. Our personal favourite choice is ALDO's gorgeous suede black wedge. It's sleek look is versatile. You can wear it with a cute dress, or on a casual day with skinnys.

Fall Trend: Vampy Dark Lips!

This new trend for fall is so hot! I never thought I would like a lipstick color like this but ever since I saw Demi Lovato's new album cover I've been in love. When it comes to trends I wouldn't go break the bank. Trends come and go so fast. You can find so many variations of this lipstick colour at any drugstore. I picked up this one by Revlon called Rasberry Bite.

Fall Fashion!!!

Fall is on it's way and I could not be happier! Fall is my favourite time of year for everything fashion. Here are a few thing's that I've been ordering and preparing for my fall wardrobe! :)

Blazers:
If you do not have blazers in your wardrobe you really aren't living. They are my NUMBER ONE clothing item. I have them in all sorts of shapes, colours, and designs. I recently did some on-line shopping at Forever21.com and found this amazing pink blazer (you do not know how long I've wanted a pink blazer) that will look great and keep your arms covered for those cool fall days.

Here is the one I picked up (poor picture from phone!)

Below are pictures of Kim Kardashian and Miranda Kerr sporting pink blazers :)
Another popular fall item are blouses. I love blouses. A blouse potrays femeninity, and makes you look very polished and sophisticated. The one I picked up for this fall is burgundy (perfect colour for fall) with bow detailing that makes it more girly. It drapes long so I can wear it with
leggings and boots, or just with heels. It can also be tucked into a skirt, or just paired with jeans for a more casual look. This type of shirt is so versatile and can be worn for any occasion.

I got this blouse at asos.com (LOVE) for $54.21
Nobody rocks this look better than Kourtney Kardashian!

Let's not leave out the greatest part of fall fashion. BOOTS!!! What girl doesn't love to wear an amazing pair of boots? This year I am going to look for an over the knee classic riding boot and of course I still have my classic black leather heeled boots. And trust when I say they are not all skanky... you just have to know how to wear them and what to look for. I always go for over the knee boots... they elongate my legs and I love how stylish they are.

Black Sabrina boot $46.90 at Alloy.com
Aldo Buro Boot $180.00 at Aldo Shoes or aldoshoes.com

That is all folks! :)
xoxo Amy
